Ahlsell’s history

It started in 1877

A lot has certainly happened since John Bernström and Jakob Tornblad started the machinery company John Bernström & Co in 1877, which would form the basis of Ahlsell. Developments thus far have been explosive, and Ahlsell has in many ways streamlined important parts of the business community and made it easier for people to live and work in good environments. Join us on a journey through time that will take you to some of the milestones in Ahlsell’s history. We start at Riddarhustorget 13 in Stockholm, where John Bernström & Co had its first offices, warehouse and sales center.
