Tenmat Ventilated Fire Stop

Tenmat Ventilated Fire Stop can be installed according to two principles – with or without insect mesh/functional mesh. The installation method with insect mesh/functional mesh is referred to as "Tenmat System Mark 2".

Tenmat Ventilated Fire Stop is a cost-effective and convenient fire protection solution for ventilated air gaps in eaves and facades. The fire stop consists of a graphite-based intumescent strip that expands significantly even at low temperatures, quickly sealing the openings of the air gap and preventing extensive fire spread. The solid intumescent strip easily handles any irregularities in the air gap. Tenmat Ventilated Fire Stop is approved for installation in air gaps up to 50mm. The fire stop begins to expand when the temperature in the air gap reaches 180°C and then takes about 2 minutes to fully seal the air gap (at 50 mm air gap). Once the air gap is completely sealed, the product provides 30-60 minutes of fire resistance in both integrity and insulation. The product is assessed by Byggvarubedömningen and Sunda Hus. The product is listed in the Nordic Swan Ecolabel's Building Product Portal and is therefore approved for use in Swan-labeled construction projects.

IMPORTANT!
Currently, eaves strips/intumescent strips with fire rating EI30 are often prescribed. We recommend that you always consult the responsible fire consultant or engineer before choosing/recommending the product type. This is to ensure fire requirements and desired function in accordance with the general advice from Boverket in BBR 5:535. See Fire Mesh INCA WFS (article 72720113) for an approved solution for fire rating EI30.

Tenmat System Mark 2

Tenmat Ventilated Fire Stop can advantageously be installed together with a metal insect mesh ("Functional Mesh TJB" art no 137015) to achieve the function of preventing flames and sparks from entering the attic space before the fire strip has expanded. This combined installation is called "Tenmat System Mark 2" and is a fire sealing system where the performance has been fire tested and subsequently assessed by SAK3 certified fire consultants. Tenmat System Mark 2 can, in the configuration described in the installation instructions, be used to meet section 5:535 in BBR.

IMPORTANT! Note that "Functional Mesh TJB" is 10 meters and Tenmat Ventilated Fire Stop is 6.3 meters. As these two products are to be combined when ordering, the proportions need to be adjusted according to the project. This results in an uneven number of products from each article. Only "Functional Mesh TJB" is approved for use in the Tenmat Mark 2 system.
