LOCTITE 518 is a medium-high strength sealant that hardens without air contact between tightly joined metal surfaces. Ordinary work includes sealing of tightly joined seams between stiff surfaces and flanges of metal. Provides durability at low temperatures immediately after the flanges are mounted. Commonly used as a formed-in-place gasket on stiff flange couplings, e.g. in gearboxes and machine housings.
