OK AristoRod 12.63 is a non‑copper‑coated, manganese‑ and silicon‑alloyed solid wire for welding unalloyed steels such as general construction steels, pressure vessel steels, and shipbuilding steels with a minimum tensile strength of 560 MPa, and for fine‑grain‑treated carbon‑manganese steels for similar applications with a maximum yield strength of 460 MPa. It has slightly higher manganese and silicon content, which gives the weld metal higher mechanical properties. AristoRod wires are suitable for high current levels while maintaining a stable, disturbance‑free arc with minimal spatter and reduced sensitivity to plate surface impurities. OK AristoRod wires delivered in ESAB’s unique octagonal MARATHON PAC are well suited for mechanized welding.
OK AristoRod 12.63 is surface‑treated with ESAB’s unique ASC method, a completely new coating technology that brings MAG welding to new levels in terms of performance and versatile characteristics, especially for robotic and automated welding. Distinct advantages include exceptionally good starting properties, trouble‑free feeding at high feed speeds and long conduit lengths, a very stable arc at high welding currents, low spatter, low fume emission, reduced contact tip wear, and improved corrosion protection on the wire.
