Danfoss ball valves, type GBCT, are manually operated shut-off valves for transcritical CO2 refrigeration and freezing systems. The valve structure and materials are designed and tested specifically for use with the R744. Solder connections in iron-reinforced copper (CuFe2P). Exhaust holes in the ball prevent the entrainment of refrigerant in the valve when it is closed, which can otherwise cause bursting.
