Grooving of thin-walled stainless steel tubes
When grooving thin-walled stainless steel tubes, specially adapted rollers must be used. These rollers are specially designed to ensure that the correct groove profile geometry is created. Using standard rollers in this context results in an incorrect groove profile geometry, which in turn can lead to weakened connections and thus negatively affect the reliability of the system. Ahlsell's grooving machine TWG-VIA can be equipped with SS rollers, an accessory specially developed for grooving thin-walled stainless steel tubes. When using grooving machines from other manufacturers, it is important to check with the respective supplier that the machine is suitable for this purpose.
Important to note:
1: Groove tape measure cannot verify the geometry of the groove profile. It only shows the depth of the groove and not its shape.
2: Not all grooving machine manufacturers offer rollers that are adapted for thin-walled stainless steel tubes.
3: Ahlsell does not guarantee function or performance if the wrong type of rollers are used when grooving the pipe.
